Ayodele Fayose, the Governor of Ekiti State, Nigeria
will undergo an interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,
EFCC.
The investigation is as a result of an Allegation
against Fayose that he received over
N1.2bn from Col. Sambo Dasuki (retired) , a former National security adviser.
This fund was moved through the former state Minister for Defense, Senator
Musiliu Obanikoro.
According to the allegations, Fayose received this money
during the Ekiti state 2014 governorship election.
As the incumbent Governor of the state, Governor
Fayose has been immune to EFCC procesution. However, this immunity, he will lose on 15th October,2018 after
which the EFCC would have the constitutional right to arrest him for the prosecution.
